Brigham Young University began in 1862. Warren Dusenberry opened a school in Provo. Due to financial problems, the school shifted to various buildings. In 1875, the LDS Church’s leader Brigham supported to start of the school again.

After that, it was recognized as Brigham Young Academy. The first classes of the school began in 1876 when Karl Measer was the principal. It changed into a university in 1896.
