Grambling State University is a public and coeducational university of higher education in Grambling, Louisiana. It is also known as GSU Grambling or Grambling State. GSU was founded in 1901. The Motto of the Grambling State is Where Everybody is Somebody.

Grambling State University Overview

GSU is a historically black university. It is the home of the Eddie G. Robinson Museum. GSU is a member school of the Thurgood Marshall College Fund and the University of Louisiana System. It was established as a Colored Industrial and Agricultural School on November 1, 1901.

Later, GSU was renamed as North Louisiana Agricultural and Industrial School in 1905. After becoming a state junior college, it was renamed again as Louisiana Negro Normal and Industrial Institute in 1928.

In 1946, it became Grambling College and attained its first accreditation by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. In 1974, by the extension of the graduate programs and elementary education.

Grambling State University offers undergraduate and graduate degrees from the following four colleges which are:

It is a historic band.  They are the only Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) marching band in the nation to perform at two successive U.S. Presidential Inaugurations. It serves as the premier ambassador of the university.
