About Midwestern University

Madhyapaschim University is a public university located in Birendranagar, Surkhet, the headquarters of the Karnali Province of Nepal, formerly the headquarters of the Midwestern development region of Nepal.


Midwestern University was founded in 1900 as the American College of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery in Chicago, Illinois. Over the years, it expanded its academic offerings and changed its name to Midwestern University in 1995 to better reflect its broader mission in health sciences education.
