Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda College is an independent college of higher learning in Chennai India. It was officially opened in 1946. It is also recognized as RKMVC.
History of the Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda College
This college was opened with the help of Philanthropists and Educationists known as M. Subbaraya Aiyar who was a well-known Income Tax lawyer of Madras.
He also established 2 other Educational Institutions named Vidya Mandir in Mylapore and the Madras Institute of Technology in Chromepet.
It began with nearly about 20 teachers and 339 students. It offered only 4 of the undergraduate courses. This college was given to the Ramakrishna Mission after some years. It was a unit of Ramakrishna Mission Vidyapith.
