London School of Economics and Political Science is a public university in England. It was established in 1895. Its Motto in Latin is Rerum cognoscere causas and in English is To understand the causes of things.

In 1900, it joined the University of London. LSE is situated in Westminster, London Borough of Camden, and Central London near Convent Garden and Holborn. Historically, this area is known as Clare Market. LSE has the 5th largest funding university in the United Kingdom.

It is a member of the European University Association, the Association of Commonwealth Universities, and Russell Group. It also became a part of CIVICA. In 1901, the degrees of BSc and DSc were founded in the University of London.

LSE bought the Former Public Trustee building in 2003. Saw See Hock Student Center was opened in 2014. The Center Building was opened in 2019 and is located opposite the British Library of Political and Economic Science.

It is a 13-story building in which a 200-seater auditorium, 14 seminar rooms, and 3 lecture theatres are included. It has almost 27 academic departments of which some of these are:

British Library of Political and Economic Science is the main library of LSE and is situated in the Lionel Robbins Building. In 2023, QS World University Rankings ranked it as # 56th among the world universities while Times Higher Education World University Rankings ranked it as # 37 globally.

Bankside House is the largest student residence and the High Holborn Residence is the second residence at LSE. In the year 2021-2022, it had a total of 1,830 academic staff and 2,260 administrative staff. LSE alumni and faculty won 2 Noble prizes in Literature.
