Miami University is a private university in Florida. It was founded in 1925. This university is also known as UM, UMiami, Miami, U of M, and The U. Its Motto in Latin is Magna est veritas, and in English is Great is the truth.

In 2022, it enrolled a total of 19,402 students in almost 350 academic programs of which 12,504 students were enrolled in undergraduate programs and 6,898 were enrolled in postgraduate programs. UM offers 138 undergraduate, 67 doctoral, and 140 master’s degree programs.

The University of Miami became the second largest employer with 16,954 faculty members and staff in Miami Dade country in 2021. Its main campus has 240 acres and is located 11km from Downtown Miami. In 2022, UM became the 67th largest research university in the nation. UM has almost 224,967 total alumni.

UM was one of the 131 colleges and universities to participate in the V-12 Navy College Training Program during World War II. Jay F. W. Pearson was selected as the second president of UM in 1952.

The Arboretum and Botanical Garden campuses of UM are in the northwest corner of the Coral Gables campus. Its main campus Coral Gables is around 15-minute train ride from Downtown and Brickell. Miami Metrorail provides transport to the Coral Gables campus.

Coral Gables Houses enrolled almost 5,415 students of which 89% are freshers. In 2020, the Leonard M. Miller School of Medicine campus of UM had 1523 faculty and 819 students.
